On June 1, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Steele St., Asheboro, in reference to an assault in progress.
Upon arrival, a deputy observed a juvenile being assaulted. An adult male, later determined to be Leomin Bolaina-Parez, was detained without further incident. EMS responded and transported the juvenile to an area hospital for medical evaluation.
Parez was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for felony assault inflicting serious injury and felony child abuse-serious bodily injury. He was issued a $350,000 secured bond. A first appearance was set for June 2, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
This is an ongoing investigation.
