On September 24, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to an area hospital in reference to an Overdose.
Following the investigation, charges were sought against Richard Kimery Mitchell and Brittney Danielle Hohn for felony negligent child abuse–serious physical injury, and the magistrate found probable cause to issue warrants for arrest.
On January 15, 2025, Mitchell was located, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was served his warrant, and the magistrate issued a $25,000 secure bond. A first appearance was set for January 16, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
On June 9, 2025, Hohn was located during a traffic stop. She was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where she was served her outstanding warrant for arrest. She was given a $150,000 secured bond. A first appearance was set for June 10, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
