On June 2, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office observed a vehicle on the side of Vaughn York Road and conducted a welfare check. The driver was identified as Travis Earl Pugh, Jr., 30, who had an Order for Arrest and was therefore placed in custody. Deputies discovered paraphernalia while taking him into custody.
During a subsequent search, illegal narcotics and paraphernalia were located in the front passenger seat where Kimberly Nicole Hopkins, 30, had been sitting upon officer’s approach. Hopkins was also taken into custody.
Both subjects were transported to the Randolph County Detention Center and taken before the magistrate where Pugh was served with his order for arrest for failure to appear on a misdemeanor. Additionally, the magistrate found probable cause for misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was issued a $2,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Randolph County District Court on June 3, 2022.
The magistrate also found probable cause for felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of Schedule III Controlled Substance for Hopkins. She was issued a $1,500 secured bond and a first appearance was set for June 3, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
