On July 18, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Country Place Rd., Asheboro, in reference to a reported fight in progress. Upon arrival, the victim had visible signs of an assault. The assailant had fled the scene. Additional deputies responded to assist in the search. Christopher Michael Hicks was located, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center. Once at the Detention Center, deputies located illegal substances in his possession. The magistrate found probable cause for simple assault as well as felony possession of a controlled substance on a jail premise. Christopher was not given a bond due to being out of pre-trial release. A first appearance was set for July 21, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
