On June 8, 2022, while patrolling the Prospect St. area of High Point, Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Deputies conducted a welfare check on a subject that appeared to be asleep in a vehicle parked in the parking area of a local business. Upon approach, they were able to eventually wake the driver, identified as Joshua Daniel Wilson. They observed paraphernalia laying in his lap prior to him exiting the vehicle. During a subsequent search, heroin and additional paraphernalia were located. He was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for charges of felony possession of heroin and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was issued a $2,500 unsecured bond and a court date was set for June 27, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
