On August 17, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Ridgeview Rd., Archdale, in reference to larceny/theft.
Following an investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division, charges were sought against Derek Wayne Clodfelter for financial card theft and misdemeanor larceny. The magistrate found probable cause for the charges and issued a warrant for arrest.
On September 23, 2025, the Criminal Apprehension Team located and apprehended Derek Wayne Clodfelter. He was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was served this warrant. Clodfelter was also wanted on a felony order for arrest and two misdemeanor orders for arrest. He was issued a $75,000 total secured bond. A first appearance was set for September 24, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
