On September 29, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Team Urban Unit responded to Carriage Way Rd., Asheboro, in reference to an armed person in the area. After further investigation, the individual was identified as Samuel Willis Davis. Davis was located and was holding a shotgun upon law enforcement's arrival. A search of his person was conducted for officer safety, and assorted ammunition was located in Davis’s possession. During an additional search of Davis, methamphetamine was located.
Samuel Willis Davis was placed into custody and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for the charges of felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was issued no bond due to being on pre-trial release, and a first appearance was set for September 30, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
