On June 11, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Team initiated a traffic stop on Muddy Creek Rd., Archdale. The vehicle continued to accelerate and a vehicle pursuit ensued. Additional deputies responded and assisted with a forced vehicle maneuver. The driver, identified as Timothy Gage Tate, exited the vehicle and fled on foot into a wooded area. but was quickly apprehended. Tate had an outstanding order for arrest for failure to appear on narcotics charges out of Guilford County. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served the outstanding order for arrest. The magistrate also found probable cause for Felony Flee to Elude Arrest with a Motor Vehicle, Resisting Public Officer, Reckless Driving to Endanger, Speeding, and Failing to Stop at a Stop Sign/Flashing Red Light. Tate was given a total secured bond of $16,000 and a first appearance was set for June 13, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
