On September 9, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Allred St., Franklinville, in reference to a report of trespassing. During the investigation, it was discovered that two vehicles were missing from the property.
Following an investigation by the Criminal Interdiction Team Urban Unit, charges were sought against Raymond Eldridge Maxey, III, for two counts felony larceny of motor vehicle, two counts felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle, and felony obtain property by false pretense. The magistrate found probable cause and issued a warrant for arrest.
On October 7, 2025, Maxey was located, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was served his warrant. The magistrate issued a $25,000 secured bond, and a first appearance was set for October 8, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
