On December 17, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Allred Way., Randleman, in reference to an unconscious person. Upon arrival, Randolph County EMS were actively working with the victim and reported that they would be transporting to an area hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
Following the investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division, charges were sought against Gatlin Jarrett Hurley for felony assault inflicting serious bodily injury and felony possession of firearm by felon against Misty Nicole Presnell Hurley. The magistrate found probable cause for those charges and issued warrants for arrest.
On December 22, 2025, Detectives with the Criminal Apprehension Team (CAT) located Misty Nicole Presnell Hurley. She was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where she was served her warrant. She was not issued a bond and a first appearance was set for December 23, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
Gatlin Hurley was also located, arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served his warrant. He was not issued a bond and a first appearance was set for December 23, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
