On June 7, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Old Cox Rd., Asheboro, in reference to a suspicious person in the area. Upon arrival, deputies observed a vehicle sitting in the driveway to a vacant residence. The driver was identified as August Rose Lockhart, 30, and a passenger was identified as Rachel Leigh Barley, 28, who had outstanding orders for arrest for failure to appear. During a subsequent search, methamphetamine and paraphernalia were located.
After completing the search, Lockhart requested to be transported for medical evaluation. Barley was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where she was served the orders for arrest and issued a $1,000 secured bond. A first appearance set for June 8, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
The magistrate issued warrants on Lockhart for her arrest for Felony Possession of Methamphetamine, Misdemeanor Possession Drug Paraphernalia, and Misdemeanor Simple Possession of Schedule III.
On July 3, 2022, Lockhart was located, arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where she was served the outstanding warrants and an outstanding order for arrest for failure to appear. She was issued a $2,500 unsecured bond and a first appearance was set for July 5, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
