On July 7, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to US Hwy 64 E and Dewey Rd in reference to an Agency Assist with the NCSHP on a traffic stop. During a subsequent search, a substantial amount of marijuana and paraphernalia were located. The driver was identified as Kalil Jabri Cuthrell. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Asheboro Police Department as a person-of-interest in an unrelated incident that occurred in Asheboro City. Deputies went before the magistrate, who found probable cause for felony possession marijuana, felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver marijuana and felony maintaining a vehicle for controlled substance.
Cuthrell was later served these warrants at the Randolph County Detention Center and issued a $10,000 secured bond with a first appearance set for July 8, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
