On July 9, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Pisgah Rd, Asheboro, in reference to an assault in progress. While enroute, communications advised that it was being reported that Daniel John Jarrell was assaulting a victim outside and was also trying to enter the residence where another victim had retreated. Upon arrival, deputies located Jarrell and a male victim in the driveway. When deputies attempted to take Jarrell into custody, he resisted but was subdued. Deputies then aided the assault victim and located the additional victim who had barricaded their self inside the residence. EMS responded and prepared the assault victim for transport by air to an area hospital.
The scene was turned over to Criminal Investigations for further investigation. Following the Detective’s investigation, the magistrate found probable cause to issue warrants for Felony Assault Inflicting Serious Bodily Injury, two counts Misdemeanor Assault on a Government Official and two counts Misdemeanor Resist/Obstruct/Delay and Jarrell was issued a $30,000 secured bond. A first appearance set for July 11, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
