On April 14, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Malbrook Ct., Trinity, in reference to a larceny. Upon arrival, the victim reported upon return from work, they discovered an outbuilding had been broken into and multiple miscellaneous tools and items had been stolen. Crime Scene Investigators responded to collect evidence.
During the investigation, deputies identified Adam Gene Phillips as the perpetrator and subsequently obtained a warrant on him for felony breaking &/or entering, felony larceny after breaking &/or entering, and misdemeanor injury to personal property.
On July 12, 2022, Phillips was apprehended by the Criminal Apprehension Team and Patrol Deputies after he attempted to hide inside of the exterior walls of the residence on Marlbrook Ct. in Trinity NC. Guil-Rand Fire Department also responded to assist in locating Phillips by utilizing thermal imagery technology.
Phillips was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center and taken before the magistrate, who issued a $5,000 secured bond, and set the first appearance for July 13, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
