On July 24, 2022, a Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Deputy conducted a traffic stop on Thayer Road. The driver identified himself as Jimmy Preston Cooper, who did not have a valid driver's license. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, methamphetamine was located. Cooper was placed under arrest for the possession. He was transported to the magistrate’s office where probable cause was found for felony possession of methamphetamines and driving while license revoked. He was released with a written promise to appear and his court date was set for July 25, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
