On July 26, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported breaking and entering in progress on Ivey Lane in Trinity. The caller advised that a female had attempted to open the front door and was making erratic comments. Upon arrival, the victims advised that the suspect was last seen going into the wooded area behind the house. Deputies located the suspect, who was identified as Nicole Ann Hicks. Hicks was taken into custody without incident. During the investigation, Hicks was found to be in possession of methamphetamine.
Hicks was transported to the magistrate's office where probable cause was found for felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor attempted breaking and entering, Resist/Delay/Obstruct, misdemeanor assault on a government official, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. She was given a $25,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for July 27, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
