On July 28, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Electronic House Arrest division received an alert that Steven Craig Skipper had tampered with his EHA monitoring device. Deputies responded to the area and located Skipper. Skipper had a strong odor of alcohol present and his EHA monitor had been removed. The removed equipment was recovered in the residence along with additional evidence of violations. Skipper has been on EHA since July 2021 for felony conspire to commit murder and misdemeanor assault and battery.
Skipper was taken into custody for Felony EHA Violation and possession/consumption of alcohol. He was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause and gave Skipper a $1,000,000 secured bond. A first appearance was set for July 29, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
