On July 29, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Old Thomasville Rd., Archdale in reference to a suspicious person in the area and multiple reports of burglary. Upon investigation, victims were able to provide a description of what the suspect was wearing and a list of some of the items taken from each vehicle. During the investigation, Deputies searched the area and located Timothy Rahine Saunders wearing the clothing described and in possession of some of the items that had been listed as stolen. He was placed under arrest. Deputies continued to survey the area looking for any additional victims when a resident of the area advised locating several bags of items that did not belong to her in a vehicle and turned the property over. During an inventory of the property, additional evidence was located.
Saunders was transported to the magistrate’s office where the magistrate found probable cause for five counts felony break/enter a motor vehicle, four counts misdemeanor larceny, four counts misdemeanor possession of stolen goods/property and misdemeanor attempted break or enter into a building. He was issued a $200,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for August 1, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
