[ARCHIVED] 9-13-22 Vehicle Break-ins

On September 13, 2022, at approximately 4:21 am, Randolph County 911 Communications began receiving calls reporting burglary of vehicles in the Sophia, Archdale and Trinity areas.  Deputies with the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office had responded to multiple addresses by 9 am to start reports and investigate.  

The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office and additional agencies in the area received multiple reports of vehicles that were broken into. The area around US HWY 311 in Randolph County experienced a high number of vehicle break-ins during the early morning hours of September 13th, 2022. It is believed that the suspects drove through neighborhoods looking for unlocked vehicles. Once inside the vehicles, suspects took valuables, currency and other items from the vehicles. Deputies were able to recover multiple items belonging to victims that had been discarded in the area by the suspects and the items were returned to their owner(s). The suspects are believed to be operating a bluish gray in color four door passenger car. The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind citizens to keep their vehicle doors locked and to report any suspicious individuals or vehicles in their area immediately by dialing 911.
