On September 18, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office went to a residence on Mechanic Rd., Asheboro, in reference to a warrant check for Dustin Wayne Bailey. Upon arrival, a male subject was observed inside of the front door of the residence and a female inside of her vehicle. The female, identified as Julie Kay Pack, denied the male was Bailey, but gave consent to search the residence. Bailey was subsequently located inside the residence where he was arrested. During a subsequent search, deputies located a firearm in his possession; Bailey is a convicted felon.
Pack was charged by citation for Misdemeanor Resist/Delay/Obstruct and Misdemeanor Harboring a Fugitive. Bailey was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for Felony Possession of Firearm by Felon and was issued a $1,000 secured bond. He was served his outstanding warrant for misdemeanor assault on a female and denied bond due to the charge being domestic in nature. A first appearance was set for September19, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
