On September 19, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Georgia Dr., Randleman, in reference to a welfare check due to a 911 hang-up. Upon arrival, deputies located Jeffery Caudill Fleeman, who had made the call, and appeared to be under the influence. Deputies witnessed smoke inside the residence and found a burn mark on the floor, a burnt bed sheet, and drug paraphernalia in the room. The local fire department responded to render the residence safe and the Fire Marshall responded for investigation.
During a subsequent search, deputies found cocaine in Fleeman’s possession. Deputies also discovered Fleeman had two outstanding orders for arrest for failure to appear. He was arrested and transported to the magistrate where he was served with the orders for arrest. The magistrate also found probable cause for charges of felony first degree arson, felony possession of cocaine, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was issued a $35,000 secured bond and his first appearance was scheduled for September 19, 2022 in Randolph County District Court.
