On September 6, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Electronic House Arrest (EHA) Officers received an alert that Derek William Stockwell had removed his electronic monitoring device. Upon investigation, the subject was not at his residence where he had been living on Parinna Dr., Trinity. A warrant was issued for his arrest for interfering with electronic monitoring device and an order for arrest for violation of EHA.
He was placed on EHA on July 8, 2022, for two counts Felony Trafficking in Methamphetamine and other related charges. His first violation occurred on July 27, 2022, after he received new charges of Trafficking Methamphetamine following a search of his residence.
On September 20, 2022, Stockwell was apprehended by deputies with the Randolph County and Davidson County Sheriff’s Offices just inside Davidson County off of Kindley Rd. following a brief foot chase. He was arrested and EHA Deputies responded to the scene taking custody of him and transporting him to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served his order and warrant for arrest. He was issued a $515,000 total secured bond. A first appearance was set for September 21, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
