On September 27, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Indian Wells Loop, Asheboro, in reference to a suspicious male in the area. Upon arrival to the area, the subject matching the description given was located and identified as Justin Michael Godfrey. During a subsequent search, methamphetamine and paraphernalia were located and Godfrey was placed under arrest. As they proceeded to the patrol vehicle, another subject exited the residence. He was identified as Kenneth Gene Ellison, who had an outstanding warrant for arrest for felony financial card theft and an order for arrest for failure to appear on a misdemeanor. Ellison was also arrested. Both subjects were transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for charges of felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia against Godfrey. He received a $1,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for September 28, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
Ellison was served his outstanding processes and received a $2,000 secured bond. A first appearance was set for September 28, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
