On October 1, 2022, a Randolph County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on Seagrove Plank Rd., Seagrove. During a subsequent search, passenger James Ambrose Epps, III, who is a convicted felon, was found to be in possession of firearms, ammunition, methamphetamine, marijuana and paraphernalia. Epps was placed under arrest and transported to the magistrate’s office where the magistrate found probable cause for charges of Felony Possession of Firearm by Felon, Felony Possession of a Weapon of Mass Destruction, Felony Possession of Methamphetamine, Misdemeanor Possession Drug Paraphernalia and Misdemeanor Possession Schedule II Controlled Substance and issued a $30,000 total secured bond with a first appearance set for October 3, 2022, in Randolph County District Court. Epps was then turned over to Detention Center staff.
