On October 6, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in the area of US Hwy 64 W. and Kindley Rd., Asheboro. Communications advised that the registered owner of the vehicle, Scott Dewayne Adams, had an outstanding warrant out of Davidson County for breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering. Upon approach of the vehicle, the driver was confirmed as Adams. He was placed under arrest for the warrant. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, methamphetamine, schedule III and schedule IV controlled substances, and paraphernalia were located. Adams was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession methamphetamine, misdemeanor simple possession schedule IV controlled substance, misdemeanor possession schedule III controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was issued a written promise to appear in Randolph County District Court on October 24, 2022, and received a written promise to appear in Lexington District Court on October 31, 2022.
