On October 12, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Parrish Drive in Randleman for a report of a domestic violence protection order violation that occurred in the county.
The victim reported that Gene Autrey Hayes, against whom she has a valid domestic violence protection order, followed her from her residence and attempted to run her off the road with her minor child in the vehicle. Hayes allegedly followed her to a business in Walmart and was subsequently arrested by Randleman Police Department for driving while impaired.
Upon interviewing the victim, the deputy sought charges against Hayes and the magistrate found probable cause to issue a warrant for arrest on Hayes for the offenses of Felony Stalking, Misdemeanor Domestic Violence Protection Order Violation, and Misdemeanor Child Abuse.
Following the DWI processing by Randleman Police Department, Hayes was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served their charges and the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office warrants. Bond was denied due the charges that were domestic in nature. A first appearance was set for October 17, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
