On October 12, 2022, Randolph County Communications received a 911 call from a female reporting that a male subject was trying to push her from a moving vehicle. Telecommunicators could hear the subjects arguing and then lost voice contact but could hear cars passing. Deputies were dispatched to the area for further investigation.
Shortly thereafter, the female called from a different number and the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to her location. Upon arrival, the victim reported she had been assaulted by Gregory Lopez Tadeo following an argument. She stated that Tadeo had attempted to push her out of the vehicle while traveling. The female was able to safely escape the vehicle upon stopping and run to safety.
Charges were sought against Tadeo and the magistrate found probable cause to issue charges for Felonious Restraint, Misdemeanor Assault on a Female, Misdemeanor Injury to Personal Property, and Misdemeanor Interfering with Emergency Communication. Tadeo was located, arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served the warrant and an outstanding order for arrest for failure to appear on a felony. He was issued a $30,000 total secured bond and a first appearance was set for October 17, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
