On October 18, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Old Liberty Rd., Asheboro for a suspicious vehicle. Deputies recognized a passenger of the vehicle as David Edward Tidwell, III, who had civil orders for arrest for non-support of a child. During a subsequent search, methamphetamine and paraphernalia were located. He was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served the outstanding civil orders and the magistrate found probable cause to issue charges of Felony Possession of Methamphetamine and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was issued a $3,000 total secured bond and $1,900 cash bond. A first appearance was set for October 18, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
