On September 8, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received a report of possible exploitation of persons in the Liberty area. The case was investigated by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division. Throughout the investigation, it was learned that numerous items had been taken from the victims.
On October 20, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, Guilford County Sheriff’s Office, Chatham County Sheriff’s Office, and the North Carolina License and Theft Bureau conducted a multi-agency operation in the execution of multiple search warrants related to this case. The search warrants led to property being recovered valued at more than $110,000 and the arrest of two individuals.
Alfred Noland Crutchfield was arrested on Felony Obtaining Property by False Pretense and two counts of Felony Exploitation of an Elder/Disabled Person. He was transported to the Randolph County Jail, where he was also served with an outstanding warrant for arrest from North Carolina License and Theft Bureau for more fraud-related charges. His bond was set at $60,000 unsecured for both cases combined.
Mary Hollyfield Bissette was arrested on Felony Obtaining Property by False Pretense and two counts of Felony Exploitation of an Elder/Disabled Person. She was transported to the Randolph County Jail, where she was also served with an outstanding warrant for arrest from North Carolina License and Theft Bureau for more fraud-related charges. Her bond was set at $60,000 unsecured for both cases combined.
