On October 30, 2022, during a traffic checkpoint located on E. Presnell St., the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office pulled a car to the side of the road being driven by a Brandon Tyler Perdue. When asked for his license, Perdue stated that he did not have a license and provided a NC identification card. Perdue was issued a citation for Driving While License Revoked.
During a subsequent search, the deputy located drug paraphernalia and a gun in the vehicle. Perdue and his passenger, Antone Marquie Morrison, were then detained for investigation. The deputy discovered that both Perdue and Morrison are convicted felons and therefore, they both were arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for their charges. Both Perdue and Morrison were charged with felony possession of a weapon of mass destruction, felony altering/removing a gun serial number, felony possession of a firearm by felon, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and misdemeanor carrying a concealed gun. Both were issued a $10,000 secured bond.
Morrison also had several outstanding processes and he was served with those and received an additional bond of $17,000.
A first appearance was set for October 31, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
