On November 3, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Randleman Police Department in reference to a call for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, the victim explained that Eric Shane Snider had taken a vehicle without permission and allegedly wrecked the vehicle while the victim was on vacation. Snider had not been given permission to drive the vehicle because he did not have a driver’s license.
When the victim returned home on this date, the vehicle was missing from the driveway. Snider had told the victim that he had wrecked the vehicle and it had been towed. Randolph Communications and NC State Highway Patrol advised they had no record of any accident for the vehicle. The deputy went before the magistrate, who found probable cause for the charge of Felony Larceny of Motor Vehicle and issued a warrant for the arrest of Eric Shane Snider.
On November 4, 2022, Snider was located in possession of the motor vehicle. He was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served the outstanding warrant. He was issued a $1,500 secured bond and a first appearance was set for November 7, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
