On November 8, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Briarcliff Dr., Asheboro, in reference to a stolen vehicle. The caller reported that a subject. identified as Joshua Allred, was attempting to sell him a vehicle well under market value. He therefore checked the VIN number and discovered it had been reported stolen to the Asheboro Police Department. Deputies met him at the address provided, where the vehicle was located under a cover. Upon contact with the property owners, they advised that Joshua Allred had brought the vehicle to their residence approximately two weeks prior to this date and it had been sitting in the yard since. They also stated that they were unaware that the vehicle was stolen. Randolph Communications confirmed it had been reported stolen on October 21, 2022.
After leaving the residence, deputies proceeded to the Randolph County magistrate’s office where the magistrate found probable cause based on the testimony to issue a warrant for arrest for Joshua McKenzie Allred for felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
Later in the day, deputies stopped a vehicle registered to Allred at the intersection of Mack Road and Friendly Acres Road. The male passenger was identified as Allred, who was then placed under arrest for the outstanding warrant. He transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served his outstanding warrant. He was issued a $25,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for November 14 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
