On November 15, 2022, a Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Deputy conducted a traffic stop in the area of Old Farmer Rd., Asheboro. The driver was identified as James Kelly Nance, who had outstanding orders and warrants for arrest and was placed under arrest. During a subsequent search, methamphetamine and paraphernalia were located. He was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for the charges of felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also served the outstanding processes. He was issued a $340,000 secured bond with a first appearance set for November 16, 2022, in Randolph County District Court and December 12, 2022, appearance date for Superior Court in Davidson County.
