On November 16, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Prospect St., Archdale, in reference to a burglary that had occurred. Upon arrival, the victim provided surveillance video of the subjects that committed the crime and deputies were able to identify one of the subjects as Jerry Michael Taylor. Detectives responded to the area in an effort to assist in the search for the subjects. Shortly after arrival, a detective located Taylor at an address in which he was trespassed from the previous night and arrested him for trespassing. Following the investigation, he was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for the charges of Felony Breaking and Entering, Felony Larceny after Breaking & Entering, Felony Possession of Stolen Goods, Felony Obtaining Property by False Pretense and Misdemeanor Second Degree Trespass. He was issued a $5,000 secured bond with a first appearance set for November 18, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be forthcoming.
