As a result of the November 17, 2022, investigation, it was discovered that Jones had been involved in a breaking/entering and larceny on November 15, 2022, in the area of Lake Lucas Rd., Sophia.
Following that investigation, the Randolph County Criminal Investigations Division, sought additional charges on Jones for Felony Breaking and Entering, Felony Larceny After Break/Enter, Felony Possession of a Firearm by Felon, and Felony Possession of Stolen Goods. Jones, currently confined in the Randolph County Detention Center in another matter, was served the warrant and the magistrate issued an additional $10,000 secured bond for these charges and a first appearance was set for November 22, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.

On Thursday, November 17, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office went to an address in the 2900 block of Old Mountain Road in Trinity, regarding a wanted person living in the area.
Upon arriving at the residence, Bryant Daniel Jones was seen standing in the front yard. When he observed deputies, he fled on foot. A perimeter was established and K-9 Ziva was deployed. K-9 Ziva successfully located Jones hiding in the wooded area in the 2700 block of Refuge Church Road, where he was then taken into custody.
Upon a subsequent search of Jones’ person, a small amount of suspected methamphetamine, suboxone, drug paraphernalia, and counterfeit US Currency were located. Jones was transported to the Randolph County Magistrate’s Office, where he was served with six outstanding felony warrants out of Randolph, Guilford, and Davidson Counties. He was also charged with Felony Possession of Methamphetamine, Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor Resist, Obstruct, Delay a Public Officer, and Felony Possession of 5+ Counterfeit Instruments. Jones was given a $120,002 secured bond in total and a first appearance was set for November 18, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
