On November 19, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Little Gate Dr., Asheboro, in reference to a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, a vehicle was located parked at the dead end of the road. Upon approach, paraphernalia was observed in the vehicle and a male subject was asleep in the back seat. The male claimed it was his father’s vehicle, however, the registration plate on the vehicle was fictitious. During a subsequent search, methamphetamine and additional paraphernalia were located. It was determined that the male, who had no identification, had also given a false name. He was arrested as “John Doe” until identification was confirmed. He was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where probable cause was found for the charges of Felony Possession of Methamphetamine, Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana, Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia. The magistrate issued a $1,000 secured bond and a photo ID as a condition of release. A court date for November 21st in Randolph County District Court was set.
The male was fingerprinted upon his arrest and the fingerprints later returned to an Eduardo Manuel Estrada, who was wanted by NC Probation and had two unserved Orders for Arrest. New warrants were issued with the correct name and Estrada was taken back before the magistrate and served the warrants for the listed charges with the addition of Misdemeanor Resisting a Public Officer. He was also served his two outstanding Orders for Arrest and issued a $10,000 total Secured Bond and court date of November 21st in Randolph County District Court.
