On November 22, 2022, at approximately 1:04 am, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Teresa Way, Asheboro, in reference to possible controlled substance violation. Upon arrival, the deputy observed a male subject walking on the side of the roadway away from the cul-de-sac and stopped to check his welfare. The male subject, identified as Brandon Wayne York, stated he had gone to a residence on Teresa Way to "buy a drill" but no one answered at the residence and he was heading home. During a subsequent search, methamphetamine and paraphernalia were located in his possession. He was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for the charges of felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was issued a $2,500 secured bond with a first appearance set for November 22, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
