On November 23, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Harlow Rd., Archdale, in regards to an assault. Upon arrival, Robert Coleman Roberts, Jr., was located at the scene. Reportedly, Roberts had been staying at the residence of the victim for the past couple days. When the victim arrived home, Roberts assaulted and strangled her. Subsequent to the investigation, Roberts was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for Felony Assault by Strangulation and Misdemeanor Assault on a Female. He was issued a $5,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for November 28, 2022, in Randolph County District Court. He was also served an out-of-county, outstanding Order for Arrest with a preset secured bond of $1,500 and a court date in Davidson County on December 5, 2022.
