On November 26, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on US Hwy 311, Archdale. Upon contact and interaction with the driver, Christian Allen Garcia-Lima, 21, the odor of marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. All occupants were asked to exit the vehicle as additional deputies arrived to assist. The back seat passenger, identified as Daniel Scott Minor, 22, refused to exit after multiple requests and was then assisted from the vehicle. The front passenger, who was identified as James Darrell Minor, 23, presented the marijuana upon exiting. All were detained for further investigation. During a subsequent search, an opened container of alcohol was located under the driver’s seat and the NC Highway Patrol responded due to the possibility of having an impaired driver. Cocaine and paraphernalia were also located.
Garcia-Lima was issued a citation for equipment failure.
James Minor, the front passenger was issued a citation for misdemeanor simple possession of marijuana and misdemeanor possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
NC Highway Patrol arrived and following their investigation, a citation was issued to Garcia-Lima for no operator’s license and driving after consuming.
Daniel Minor was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of cocaine and misdemeanor resist/delay/obstruct. He was issued a written promise to appear on December 19, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
