On November 26, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Hillsville Rd. in reference to a possible overdose. Upon arrival and approach of the vehicle, a male subject was observed slumped over the wheel of the vehicle and did not move. Upon opening the driver’s door, an odor of marijuana emitted from the vehicle. The male subject awoke and noticed deputies were there. He was identified as Christopher Allen Small and asked to exit the vehicle. During a search of Small, a plastic bag was located with several different pills in different packages. He was then detained for further investigation. Further search resulted in locating loose mixed denominational U.S. Currency. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, methamphetamine, marijuana and paraphernalia were located. Small was placed under arrest and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for the charges of Felony Maintaining a Vehicle for Controlled Substance, Felony Possession with Intent to Sell/Deliver Marijuana, Felony Possession with Intent to Sell/Deliver Methamphetamine, Felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Sell/Deliver Schedule II, Schedule III, and Schedule VI substances. He was issued a $10,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for November 28, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
