On December 10, 2022, Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Deputies initiated a traffic stop on N. Broad St., Seagrove for an expired temporary plate. Contact was made with the driver, Clifford Michael Griffin, Jr. who was informed of the reason for the stop. Griffin stated that he was aware that the temporary plate had expired and he also handed drug paraphernalia to the deputy.
During a subsequent search, methamphetamine was located and Griffin was placed under arrest. Griffin was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was taken before the magistrate and received a $20,000 secured bond. A first appearance was set for December 12, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
