On January 5, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Urban Criminal Interdiction Team initiated a traffic stop on NC Hwy 49 South in Asheboro. During a subsequent search, a handgun was located and a trafficking amount of prescription pills, along with marijuana, were located. The driver of the vehicle, Moses Dante Reza of Fayetteville, NC, also had an outstanding warrant for arrest out of Stanley County.
Reza was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for the charges of two counts of felony trafficking in opium, felony carrying concealed gun, misdemeanor possess marijuana up to ½ oz. and misdemeanor possess marijuana paraphernalia. He was also served his outstanding warrants out of Stanley County for Misdemeanor Probation Violation and Failure to Appear. He was given a $127,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for January 6, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
