On January 22, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Loflin Hill Rd. in reference to a stolen motor vehicle. Upon arrival, the victim advised her vehicle had been stolen while visiting a friend. April Renee Gray had also been allowed to stay at the residence on the night of January 21, 2023. Gray had asked to borrow the vehicle and the victim declined. The next morning, the victim and homeowner realized Gray, the keys and vehicle were gone. An additional deputy went to the address in which Gray wanted to visit the prior night and located the vehicle and Gray. She was placed under arrest and for felony larceny of a motor vehicle and felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle. The vehicle was released to the victim. Gray was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for the charges and issued a $2,500 secured bond and a first appearance was set for January 23, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
