On February 7, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest in connection with the 2014 murder of Tammy Sellers Holland. Holland, age 50, of 964 Loflin Hill Road Lot 24, was found stabbed to death inside her home on October 28, 2014.
Following a lengthy investigation into the Tammy Sellers Holland cold case, Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Detectives reviewed the case with the District Attorney’s Office. On January 26, 2023, a warrant was sought for Roy Lee White, age 50, for felony accessory after the fact of 1st degree murder.
On February 7, 2023, at 11:10 pm, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Apprehension Team located and apprehended White at the Econo Lodge on Brentwood St., High Point, NC.
White was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center and taken in front of the magistrate, who issued a $60,000 secured bond and set a first appearance for February 8, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
White cooperated with detectives and identified Holland’s killer as Florence Elizabeth Keene, who died in 2018. White and Keene, who were reportedly married, were neighbors to and associates with Holland, and were questioned by detectives at the time of the murder. However, White’s arrest in connection to this case was the culmination of a three year, cold case investigation by multiple detectives.
According to the investigation, on the day Holland’s body was discovered, a neighbor who had been attempting to make contact with Holland went to the residence after work to check on her in person. When Holland didn’t come to the door, the neighbor peered in the window and saw Holland in the living room and called 911.
According to the autopsy report released by the N.C. Medical Examiner’s office, Holland had been stabbed multiple times and succumbed to those injuries. Her death was ruled a homicide.
At the time of her death, Holland worked at Elizabeth’s Pizza in Thomasville, where she had been for 11 years. She was described in a story following her death as a devoted employee and friend; a kind person beloved by her colleagues.
