On March 2, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Loflin Hill Rd., Trinity, for an assault in progress. The caller reported she and an elderly gentleman in the home had been assaulted by an unknown black male who fled from the scene in a black car.
Upon arrival, the caller provided additional information about the assault and reported items stolen by the assailant. Based on the descriptors provided and assistance of an area police department, the deputy was able to identify the suspect in the incident as Tyler Edward Robinson. Charges were sought against Robinson and the magistrate found probable cause to issue warrants for the charges of felony common law robbery, misdemeanor assault on female and misdemeanor assault on an individual with disability.
On March 12, 2023, Robinson was located in Guilford County. He was arrested and transported to the Guilford County Detention Center where he was served the charges out of Randolph County and the additional outstanding warrants. He was issued a $10,000 secured bond for the Randolph County charges and a court date was set for March 12, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
