On March 21, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 hang up in the area of Old Mendenhall Rd., Archdale. Upon arrival, deputies located a passenger car occupied by two females sitting in the driveway of the address. The driver was identified as Kelly Callicut Cox. During the investigation, Communications advised Cox had an order for arrest out of Guilford County for expired registration card/tag and was placed under arrest. During a subsequent search, paraphernalia and methamphetamine were located. The passenger, identified as Tasha Renne Clodfelter, was also placed under arrest. They were transported to the Randolph County Detention Center.
Cox was taken before the magistrate, who found probable cause for felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia. She was also served her outstanding warrant and issued a total secured bond of $6,000.
During the booking process, Clodfelter was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. She was taken before the magistrate, who found probable cause for felony possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of a controlled substance on jail premises, misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
A first appearance was set for March 21, 2023, in Randolph County District Court, for both subjects.
