On February 7, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Oakland Ave., Asheboro, in reference to vehicle theft. While on scene collecting information, another subject reported the theft of another vehicle.
During the investigation by detectives with the Criminal Interdiction Team, it was discovered that the vehicles had been purchased from Harley Marie Roark Davis and Lashanda Kay Schwarcbher for scrap metal by an individual. Evidence was collected and charges were issued on March 28, 2023, for felony obtain property by false pretense against both subjects who willfully and feloniously did knowingly cheat and defraud another subject by selling stolen vehicles as if it was theirs.
On March 15, 2023, Schwarcbher was located, arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where she was served her outstanding warrant. She was issued a $3,000 secure bond and a first appearance was set for March 15, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
On March 27, 2023, Davis was located, arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where she was served her outstanding warrant. She was issued a $1,000 secure bond and a first appearance was set for March 28, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
