On March 15, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received a report in reference to a larceny and forgery and a suspect was developed. This report was forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Division.
During the felony arrest of Robert Neely Dixon on March 24, 2023, deputies located a checkbook in the possession of Nixon belonging to the victim in the incident previously reported stolen on March 15th.
Following the investigation, charges were sought against Dixon on April 5, 2023, and the magistrate found probable cause to issue warrants for felony possession of 5+ counterfeit instrument, five counts felony uttering forged instrument, three counts felony obtaining property by false pretense, felony financial card fraud, felony identity theft, felony financial card theft, misdemeanor larceny and misdemeanor possession of stolen goods.
On April 9, 2023, Dixon was located, arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served the warrants. He was also served an outstanding warrant for misdemeanor unauthorized use of motor vehicle and misdemeanor larceny. The magistrate issued a $105,000 total secured bond and a first appearance was set for April 10, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.

On February 25, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vehicle theft that occurred sometime after February 13, 2023.
On March 2, 2023, the Sheriff’s Office received additional list of items that had been stolen from the victim’s home.
On March 14, 2023, detectives with the Criminal Interdiction Unit discovered that the vehicle had been scrapped at a local recycling company. During the investigation, it was determined that Robert Neely Dixon had stolen the vehicle and sold it to an individual who then sold it to the metal recycler. Charges were sought for felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle and misdemeanor larceny of a motor vehicle and the magistrate found probable cause for the charges.
On March 24, 2023, Dixon was located, arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served his outstanding warrant. He was issued a $5,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for March 27, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
