On April 23, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Dawson Miller Rd., Asheboro. The driver was identified as Teresa Michelle Lovelace. While issuing a citation for a traffic violation, Communications advised Lovelace had an active order for arrest for Failure to Appear in Randolph County. Upon re-approach, Lovelace was found in possession of drug paraphernalia. During a subsequent search, cocaine, opium and paraphernalia were located. Lovelace was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony trafficking opium (possession and transporting), felony possession of cocaine, felony maintaining a vehicle for controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. She was served the outstanding warrant and issued a total $27,000 secured bond. A first appearance was set for April 24, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
