On May 6, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Kemp Mill Rd., Asheboro, for a 50 B violation by Robert Michael Jenkins. Upon arrival, the responding deputies observed Jenkins walk to the front door and upon noticing the approaching deputy, entered the residence and shut the door. Following multiple attempts, Jenkins came out of the residence and was placed under arrest. The victim arrived shortly after and deputies collected additional information regarding the incident.
Jenkins was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was taken before the magistrate, who found probable cause for charges of felony stalking, felony breaking and entering with intent to terrorize/injure occupant, two counts misdemeanor domestic violence protective order violation, misdemeanor harassing phone call, misdemeanor domestic criminal trespassing, and misdemeanor resisting public officer. No bond was issued due to the nature of the incident. A first appearance was set for May 8, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
This incident is still under investigation and additional charges may be forthcoming.
